Restoring the musical legacy of The Revelers,
the preeminent radio and recording quartet of the 1920s and 30s.
Under the direction of Craig Phillips, University of Oregon professor and founding member of the GRAMMY®-nominated vocal quartet New York Polyphony, The Revelers Project is working to rehabilitate a collection of autograph scores, once the property of the original Revelers. Comprising 512 unpublished song arrangements by Frank J. Black and Ed Smalle, the historic collection includes many of the group's recorded hits, as well as unrecorded works not heard or performed since the 1930s.
Work is underway to produce and publish an anthology of The Revelers’ signature arrangements.
